Connecting Communities: Why Our Partnership with the London Student Network Matters

Mon 23rd Jun 2025

Earlier this term, Oxford interns Kelsey and Viola sat down with the founder of the London Student Network (LSN), Josh Robinson. They discussed the partnership between LSN and add-victor and why this is exciting for both student life and early career opportunity for all the students across London.

The Purpose Behind LSN: What Fuels the Student-led Vision?

Josh created the London Student Network (LSN) to tackle a common student frustration: the lack of collaboration and representation between student groups across the city. From societies and sports to student-led events and media, universities communities often operate in silos, struggling to connect with students, and feeling isolated due to missed opportunities.

LSN aims to change that by building an integrated platform where students can discover events, societies and opportunities across all of London's universities. Founded in 2024, LSN already gather over 500,000 students, 40 universities and 4,000 societies. Clubs and societies can sign up through the LSN website and enjoy the growing community

The LSN distinguishes itself from other networks through its close collaboration with student newspapers and dedicated media. Each campus has the ability to share its most exciting events and stories with LSN, which in turn helps amplify and further promote those towards other all the London student base. LSN is the first and only platform to promote events for students made by students. All information is visible and publicly listed on one website, making it collaborative and accessible.

Why LSN & add-victor Make a Great Match?

Both LSN and add-victor recognise the full scope of what students are doing outside of the classroom. LSN focuses on immediate opportunities, "the here and now" of what's happening. Students are offered immediate access to those opportunities, helping maximise their university experience with purpose and engagement.

At add-victor, we're all about uncovering and elevating individual potential, especially through sport, leadership, and high-performance. add-victor operates further along the student journey with career provisions curated for student-athletes. Students are offered a longer-term perspective through tailored career insights, employability tools, and access to early career professional opportunities.

For students new to the city, add-victor not only helps connect student-athletes to employers but also complements resources like our guide to settling in London, full of practical tips on navigating student life, making the most of the city, and feeling at home faster.

Both institutions share the same goal of opening up more doors for students and societies across London through creating a more connected, opportunity-rich environment. “Everything we’re doing is to give opportunities to students largely free of charge, and so basically allow these opportunities to be spread more easily.”

Josh says “add-victor respects person, individuality and your overall uniquess”. Together, we span the full pipeline from student involvement to professional success.

From Vision to Reality: Josh’s Spark Behind LSN

Josh’s practical experience of being president and vice president of the Politics Society at King’s College London was the primary motivation behind the LSN.

After conversations with other society leaders across London, it became clear: everyone was facing the same problem. So, LSN was born: a network for students, powered by students, built on real need. “The strength of the opportunity is only as good as the ability to market it to the largest group of people that you possibly can.”, Josh said.

“Everything made by a student should be visible and accessible to every single student in the city.”

With the backing of our new partnership and recent collaboration with British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS), add-victor is proud to be part of a movement that connects academic, social, and career development all in one.
